Adam Miller Sparling will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at Temple Beth El
on Saturday, Nov. 27. Adam is the
son of Cathy Sparling and Alan
Sparling. Joining in the celebration
will be Adam's grandparents Marilyn
and Allen Weiss.
Adam is a sev-
enth grader at East
Hills Middle
School in
Bloomfield Hills.
He enjoys playing
football and bas-
ketball, computer
activities, music
and photography.

Ryan is a fourth-generation mem-
ber of the synagogue, descending
from his paternal great-grandparents

Ryan is a seventh-grade student at
Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills, where he plays
oboe in the school band. He enjoys
basketball, hockey and computer
games. Ryan's other interests include
cars, car collections and coin collec-
tions. His mitzvah projects included
working with the older pre-school
children at the D. Dan & Betty
Kahn Building of the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield and working one-on-one
with a child of special needs through
the Friendship Circle.

a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 27,
at Congregation
B'nai Moshe. Sam
is the son of Debra
and Gary
Yashinsky. His
proud brothers are
Gabriel, Joseph and
Michael.

Sam is an honor student at
Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. He enjoys playing
tournament baseball, basketball,
table tennis and football. He plays
percussion in the school band. For
his mitzvah project, Sam is volun-
teering for the Special Olympics and
donating books to needy children.

Viejo, Calif. Carly
is the daughter of
Marcia and Jeffrey
Edelstein and sister of Alexander
(Alex) Ivan. Her proud grandparents
are Dr. Bruce and Carolyn Prouse of
El Cajon, Calif., and Sandra and
Norman Ordower of Windsor. Her
special great-grandmother is Renee
Edelstein of Orchard Lake. Carly is
also the granddaughter of the late
Ivan T. Edelstein.
Carly is an eighth-grade honor
student at Las Flores Middle School
in Dove Canyon, where she plays
cello in the string ensemble and is
an editor of the school newspaper.
She is active in the United
Synagogue Youth and enjoys French,
music and collecting foreign dolls.
