to-your ribs meal. It is inside the
Royal Oak Medical Center on the cor-
ner of Coolidge and Meijer Drive (14
1/2 Mile) in Royal Oak. The city
made them take down the plastic ban-
ner sign they hung outside the restau-
rant because Dr. Mumtaz George did
not get a city permit for the sign yet.
So there is nothing outside the place
to say the restaurant is there.
"When calling, the clinic's recep-
tionist answers, so you have to ask for
Jim D'Annunzio, the chef in the cafe.
Jim was chef at Pure and Simple in
Troy, which closed down — but a lot
of people have fond memories of it.
"Everything Healthy Harvest has
there is heart healthy. Even the break-
fast 'bacon' is healthy — because it is
made from soy.
"Dr. George is himself a vegetarian,
and belongs to a society of doctors
called A4M, American Academy, of
Anti-Aging Medicine, www.world-
health.net. It was Dr. George's idea to
put a vegetarian restaurant in his clinic
to make healthy food available for
himself, his staff and patients."

"As former Detroiters (West
Bloomfield and Birmingham) who now
live in Scottsdale, Ariz., we thought this
might be of interest to your readers. We
just returned from a tour through Italy,
ending our vacation with a four-day
stay at the gracious home of former
Lelli's maitre d', Joe Reggini (`50s to
`70s) who returned to the Republic of
San Marino. His wife, Ida, treated us to
many gourmet Italian home-cooked
meals including steak with
Sauce,' which brought back many deli-
cious memories. We reminisced about
his many friends in the Detroit area."
