Igir hen Mark Harelik takes
on his new, recurring
role in the sitcom Boy
Meets World, you might
recognize him from other series, The
Single Guy, Wings or Hearts Afire.
When Harelik's first play, The
Immigrant, comes to the stage of the
Jewish Ensemble Theatre, you might
recognize the stories of his grandpar-
ents as similar to stories told by your
own.
The Immigrant, which runs Oct.
6-Nov. 7, is about two Eastern
European Jews who move into a
small Texas town through a resettle-
ment program established just after
the turn of the century. The cast
includes Paul Hopper, Greg

Trzaskoma, Mary Bremer and Jodi
Ellison.
"This play is pretty biographical,"
says Harelik, who wrote the piece in
just three weeks. "I had to fictional-
ize the scenes, but the situations
were a compilation of all the stories
