When Harelik's first play, The Immigrant, comes to the stage of the Jewish Ensemble Theatre, you might recognize the stories of his grandpar- ents as similar to stories told by your own. The Immigrant, which runs Oct. 6-Nov. 7, is about two Eastern European Jews who move into a small Texas town through a resettle- ment program established just after the turn of the century. The cast includes Paul Hopper, Greg Trzaskoma, Mary Bremer and Jodi Ellison. "This play is pretty biographical," says Harelik, who wrote the piece in just three weeks.
