BENJAMIN "BENT STEIN, 76, of

West Bloomfield, died July 31.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandy
August of Walled Lake; brother and sis-
ter-in-law Al and Ida Stein of West
Bloomfield; sister and brother-in-law
Sylvia and Ronald Block of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren Larry and
Suzanne Siegel, Allan Siegel.
Mr. Stein was the beloved father of
the late Cherry Siegel.
Graveside services were at the Adat
Shalom Cemetery. Contributions may
be made to the charity of one's choice.

DR. WILLIAM M. STOLER, 77, of

Pompano Beach, Fla., died July 30.
Dr. Stoler graduated from Wayne
State University Pharmacy School when
he was 20 and was a 1944 graduate of
Des Moines College of Osteopathic
Medicine. From 1945-1987, Dr. Stoler
practiced family medicine in Harper
Woods and was a former health com-
missioner.
Dr. Stoler was on staff of Sarato ga
Hospital and Bi-County Hospital. 7-le
was a former board member at Art
Center Hospital in Detroit, honorary
life member at Martin Place Hospital in
Madison Heights, past medical co-chair-
man at the Allied Jewish Campaign and
Israeli Bonds. He was also a past vice
president of Congregation Beth Achim.
Mr. Stoler donated Torah scrolls to
the synagogue and to Israel. Said Rabbi
Emeritus Milton Arm, "This was a con-
tribution rooted in the spirit as well as
in the tradition of our people." Mr.
Stoler was a frequent contributor to the
synagogue, Israel Bonds, the United
Jewish Appeal among manyother chari-
ties.
"He did this not for self-aggrandize-
ment but because he was motivated to
do so by his sense of service and altruis-
tic devotion," said the rabbi.
Dr. Stoler is survived by his wife of
53 years, Maxine Stoler; son Dr. Richard
Stoler of Bloomfield Hills; daughters
and sons-in-law Cheryl and Dr. Ronald
Rasansky of West Bloomfield, Deborah
and Dr. Andrew Colman of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren Bradley, Brooke,
Jodie, Lisa, Michael and Randall.
He was the dear brother of the late
Sam Stoler and the late Dr. Harry Stoler.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.
