July 26.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Prof. Stanley and Janet
Meizel of Davis, Calif.; daughter Jean
Meizel of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren
Laura and Mark Reeve, Katherine
Meizel.
Mrs. Meizel was the beloved wife of
the late Louis Meizel.

Mrs. Moss was born in Detroit and
taught school in the Flint public schools.
She was a member of Congregation
Beth Israel in Flint, its sisterhood,
Hadassah, the United Jewish Appeal and
the Jewish Federation.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Lee A. and Linda
Moss of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren
Lindsay and Melissa Moss; brother
Sheldon Lederman of Detroit.
She was the wife of the late Murray
E. Moss, sister of the late Marvel Singer
and daughter of the late Morris and the
late Rene Lederman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery,

FLORENCE B. PANITCH, 87, of

Detroit, died July 28.
Mrs. Panitch is survived by her sons

and Barbara E. King of Boise, Idaho,

Zeda Nathan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grand-

MAX SCHWARTZ, of Connecticut,

died Aug. 1.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by his wife,

West Bloomfield; grandchildren Rachel,

IRVING ROSENTHAL, 78, of

Pompano Beach, Fla., died July 29.
Mr. Rosenthal was a builder, land
developer and founding partner of
Irvine Home Builders. He was also a
past president of Temple Israel and its
brotherhood.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley
Rosenthal; sons and daughters-in-law
Douglas and Ellen Rosenthal of

KENNETH J. SHATZ, 74, former

Detroiter of Los Angeles, died July 30.
Mr. Shatz is survived by his compan-
ion, Shirley Hess; daughters and sons-
in-law Stacey and Michael Bellomo of
Chicago, Susan Shatz and Joseph
Cooley of Chicago; sister Lorraine
Stricof of Farmington Hills.
Interment in Chicago.
