DR. PHILIP V. ABRAM, 84, of

Pembroke Pines, Fla., died July 27. He
was a general practitioner.
Dr. Abram is survived by his daup.-,h-
ter, Mona Garcia of California and
grandchildren Justin Abram and Gino
Garcia.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery
Contributions may be made to the
American Cancer Society. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

LILLIE MAY BETMAN, 87, former

Detroiter of Tamarac, Fla., died August
1.
Mrs. Betman was a former accoun-
tant with the technical staff of the
Internal Revenue Service. She was also a
graduate of the Detroit Conservatory of
Music. She taught music in her youth
and performed for various organizations.
Along with her mother, the late
Gusty Singer, she organized and con-
ducted the Mogen David unit of the
Red Cross during World War II. Mrs.
Betman was also a volunteer for the
blood bank at the Romulus airfield. She
was a former V.A.V.S. representative and
volunteer at the Veterans hospital in
Allen Park. She was a volunteer at Sinai
Hospital and a member of the Guild.
She was one of the first presidents of
the Business and Professional Chapter of
the B'nai Brith and held several offices
in the early Friendship Group.
Mrs. Betman is survived by her
daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn
Betman of Oak Park, Anna and Allan
Karden of Tamarac; grandchildren Belle
Eilene Karden, Jacob Dov Karden.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Paul Betman.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment were at Hebrew Memorial
Park. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

SHIRLEY BROIDA, 91, of

Farmington Hills, died July 31.
She is survived by her nieces and
nephews, Norma and Al Berlin, Annette
and Jerry Weinstein; many other nieces
and nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Sidney Broida and the late Harry
Raden.
Graveside services were at Beth El

JANET DUNN, 85, of Southfield, died
July 31.
She is survived by her sons and

daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Judy Dunn
of Farmington Hills, Sidney and Linda
Dunn of Carmel, Ind.; grandchildren
Kari Dunn, Stacie Dunn, Jamie Dunn,
Jeremy Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Laura
Dunn.
Mrs. Dunn was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Albert Dunn.

MARSHA GARTENBERG, 83, of
West Bloomfield, died August 3.
She is survived by her sons and

Gartenberg of Bloomfield Hills, Martin
and Rachelle Gartenberg of Staten
Island, N.Y.; daughter Susan Gartenberg
of Staten Island; grandchildren Elissa
Gartenberg, Ranch Gartenberg, Lori
Gartenberg, Shaun Gartenberg,
Meredith Gartenberg.
Mrs. Gartenberg was the beloved
wife of the late Joseph Gartenberg.

LEON HIRSCH GOLDEN, 86, of

Southfield, died July 27.
Mr. Golden is survived by his daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Fran and Dr. Jerry
Uzansky of Southfield, Linda and Rick
Krieger of Oak Park; grandchildren
Marci (Alex) Benson, Dr. Mark (Halley)
Uzansky, Todd Krieger and David
Krieger; great-grandchildren Sara Jayne
Benson and Ellery Bryce Benson; corn-
panion Ruth Letvin; sister Altha Cohn
of El Paso, Tex.
He was the husband of the late Jane
Golden.
Graveside services were at the Clover
Hill Park Cemetery. Contributions may

DR. HOWARD JACOBS, 72, of West

Bloomfield, died Aug. 2.
Dr. Jacobs is survived by his wife,
Adele Jacobs; sons and daughter-in-law
Stephen and Lisa Jacobs, John Jacobs;
daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and
Robin Fisher of Los Angeles, Lynn and
Herschel Pazornick of West Bloomfield,
Laurie and Steven Grandetti; grandchil-
dren. Aryn, Joshua, Amanda and
Samantha; sisters Leonore Morris and
Frieda Rosen.
