Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Adat Shalom and volunteering her time
with the homeless:
Cara Michele DUschinsky celebrated
becoming a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
May 8, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Her celebration con-
tinued at Excalibur
the next evening.
Cara is the daugh-
ter of Stan and Sandi
Duschinsky and the
sister of Scott and.
Chad. Cara is the
granddaughter of Hedy Duschinsky and
the late Joseph Duschinsky, Joan and
Bernie Rappaport and Yale Gealer. Bess
Gonte is her proud great-grandmother.
Cara is in the seventh grade at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. She enjoys music, sports
and being with her friends.
Andrew Connor Sherman will become
a bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Friday,
June 4. He is the son
of Laura Sherman
and David Sherman
and brother of Jessica
and Dakota. Proud
grandparents are Alice
and Bud Hartnett
and Jane and Larry
Sherman. Marjorie
and Max Fisher and
Lillian Sherman are the excited great-
grandparents.
Attending Hillel Day School in
Farmington Hills, Andrew is interested
in hockey, basketball, football, music,
TV and AOL. He found it particularly
important to volunteer at JARC as part
of his mitzvah projects.
Ari. Michael Stern will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Friday, June
4, at Temple Israel.
He is the son of Julie
and William Stern
and brother of
Lindsay and Emily.
Phyllis and Dr.
Gerald Brickner and
Sydney and Norman
Stern are the excited
grandparents.
His most mean-
ingful mitzvah project was collecting
items for children admitted to the
Orchards Children's Center. An honor
student at Orchard Lake Middle School
in West Bloomfield, Ari enjoys in-line
skating, hockey, golf, basketball, snow-
boarding and going to Camp Tamakwa.
