Middle School in Oak Park. He enjoys
basketball, football, baseball, golf and
computers.
Adam's mitzvah projects included
delivering food at Yad Ezra and packag-
ing food at Focus Hope and Gleaners
with the Huntington Woods
Woodstrivers.

Amit Sharon Weitzer will be called to
the Torah as a bat
mitzvah on Friday,
May 7, at Temple
Kol Ami. Amit is the
daughter of Ilan and
Margo Weitzer, sister
of Maya and Talia,
granddaughter of
Anne and the late
Larry Pernick, Bella
and Chanan Weitzer and great-grand-
daughter of Bessie Zelonka.
Amit is an honor student at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield.
She enjoys swimming on the JCC swim
team, tennis, art and outdoor recreation,
particularly camping. Her mitzvah pro-
jects include working as a teacher's aide
during weekly religious school for
Temple Kol Ami, organizing a neighbor-
hood collection of toiletries for the SOS
Shelter and delivering food for Yad Ezra.

Abby Lauren Urnovitz will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
May 8, at Congregation Beth Shalom.
Abby is the daughter
of Elayne and Harvey
Urnovitz and the sister
of Brian. She is the
granddaughter of
Sidney Riskin and
Annette Urnovitz, the
late Natalie Riskin and
the late Hy Urnovitz.
Abby is an honor student at Norup
Middle School in Oak Park. She plays in
the band and was awarded a scholarship
to attend a summer jazz workshop at
Cranbrook. Abby enjoys basketball and
volleyball at Norup, as well as swimming
for the Huntington Woods Hurricanes
and playing softball. She has been tap
dancing since she was 3. Abby will be
playing girls' basketball for the Maccabi
team when they travel to Houston,
Texas, this summer.
For her mitzvah projects, Abby has
gone with her Hebrew school class to
assist at a JARC home, Yad Ezra, Lahser
Hills Nursing Home and Elan Village.
One of her most memorable mitzvahs
was helping to make a quilt square for
the Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition.
