JPM Classes For The Spring

"Just the Two of Us" is a class for tod-
dlers ages 17-24 months and a parent,
offering the opportunity to experiment
with materials, music, creative move-
ment and gym time. A kosher snack will
be provided. The class will begin 10
a.m.-noon Monday, April 12, and run
for seven weeks. The fee is $56 for JCC
members; $70 for non-members.
A first preschool class for children
only, ages 2-3 years, will include art, cre-
ative movement, story time and gym
time. A kosher snack will be provided.
The teacher is Sandie Landau. The class
will begin 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday,
April 14, and run for seven weeks. The
fee is $56 for members; $70 for non-
members.
Beginning Thursday, April 15, the
JPM will offer several computer classes,
all running for seven weeks. The
Computer Tot Class, at 1 p.m., is geared
for children ages 3-5 to strengthen-skills
in math, science and other areas.
The Computer Explorer Class, with a
choice of sessions at 3:30, 4:30 or 5 •
p.m., is for students in grades 1-5.
Classes will help develop technological
expertise while introducing new software

and technologies. The fee for all corn-
puter classes is $70 for members; $75
for non-members.
"Puppet Fun" with Shawn Richie will
involve designing and making a puppet
and putting on a play. The four-week
session runs 4:30-5:30 p.m. starting
Tuesday, April 13. The fee is $35 for
members; $40 for non-members.
A photography workshop with Margi
Silk will meet 7-9 p.m. starting
Thursday, April 15, for six sessions. The
fee is $75 for members; $85 for non-
members.
Amy Lazare will teach a class on cre-
ating scrapbooks. It begins 7-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 15, for four sessions.
The fee is $15 for members; $20 for
non-members.
Creative dance classes with Harriet
Berg will be offered to boys and girls
ages 3-5, starting 10:15-11 a.m.
Tuesday, April 13. Creative dance for
children ages 4-5 will begin 11:15- noon
Tuesday, April 13. These classes are $48
for members and $64 for non-members.

"Healthy Kids Are Happy Kids"

Erica Grushoff an Rachel Fleish are two of six North Farmington High
School students to qualify for the national conference of DECA, a career
development group for U S. high school students. Students compete by dis-
playing their marketing skills at different levels beginning with a regional
competition. This is the second straight year that Erica and Rachel have
qualified for the nationals, which will be held this year in Orlando and
include hotel accommodations and theme park visits. Both girls will attend
the University of Michigan in the fall.
