DOROTHY GREENE, 99, of Bloomfield
Hills, died March 21.
Mrs. Greene worked for 34 years as
chief of design, displays and publicity for
Himelhoch's department store. She also
worked as a fabric designer and was a for-
mer member of the American Institute of
Designers.
She authored a book on children's gar-
dening and won several awards for floral
design. She was a graduate of Wayne State
University and a lifelong member of
Temple Beth El where she volunteered as a
religious school teacher.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her sons and
daughter-in-law, Stuart Greene of Phoenix,
Donald and Betty Greene of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren Jody and Steven
Richmond, Laurie and David Blume,
Susan Greene, Lucy and Baruch Rafael,
John Greene; great-grandchildren, Hannah
Blume, Sarah Blume and Amanda Rafael.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Nathaniel Green.

PEARL KIMMEL, 100, of Southfield,
died March 16. Mrs. Kimmel worked at
Hudson's as a sales consultant until age 75.
She is survived by her son-in-law,
Daniel Knopper of West Bloomfield and
granddaughter Karen Knopper of
Birmingham. Mrs. Kimmel was the
beloved wife of the late Joseph Kimmel and
loving mother of the late Sonia Knopper.
TESSIE KLEIN, 93, of Scottsdale, Ariz.,
died March 14. Mrs. Klein worked until
age 79 for Chaim Greenberg at the Labor
Zionist Institute as an education secretary.
She is survived by her daughters and
sons-in-law, Barbara and Dave Moran of
Scottsdale, Joyce and Bob Gilbert of
Clinton Township; grandchildren Michael
