ELKA STRASBERGER, 64, of Oak
Park, died Jan. 1. She is survived by
her sons and daughters-in-law, Allen
and Victoria Strasberger of Honolulu,
Hawaii, Paul and Marcie Strasberger
of Oak Park;. sisters and brothers-in-
law, Leah and Tzvi Merringer of
Israel, Chaya and Baruch Merringer
of Israel, Bluma of Melbourne, Aus-
tralia; grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel,
Hilary. Mrs. Strasberger was the
beloved wife of the late Fred Stras-
berger; loving sister of the late Frieda
Vishnia.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
B'nai Israel Memorial Gardens in
Novi.
LILLIAN C TILLINGER, 82, of
Detroit, died Dec. 28. Lillian was a
cake froster and a member of Na'a-
mat. She is survived by her guardian
and friend, Arnold Budin.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

JERRY VARON, 66, of Southfield,
died Dec. 16. Mr. Varon was an
advertising executive. He was a mem-
ber of the Atlas Valley Country Club,
on the board of directors for the Cys-
tic Fibrosis Foundation, the founder
of the Jimmy Varon Golf Outing-
Amoco Dealers and Jobbers and
helped raise over one million dollars
for the Metro Detroit Chapter of the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Mr. Varon is survived by his wife,
Shaaron Varon; daughters and sons-
in-law, Dr. Linda and Kevin Thomas
of Franklin, Laura Varon and Jeff
Brown of Bloomfield Hills; grandchil-
dren, Molly Varon, Emma Brown,
Jacob Brown, Shea Thomas; father-in-
law and mother-in-law, Saul and Mar-
ion Dicken and brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Allen Dicken, Burl and
Tamra Dicken, Beverly and Joseph
Sanders. He was the devoted father of
the late Richard Varon and the late
James Varon and the loving son of the
late Norman and the late Mary Varon.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

ELENORE WINKELMAN, 77, of
Troy, died Jan. 2. Mrs. Winkelman is
survived by her daughter and son-in-
law, Susan and Sanford Birnholtz of
Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren, Jere-
my, Melanie and Kenneth Birnholtz;
sister, Belle Englander. She was the
beloved wife of the late Alvin Winkel-
man and the dear sister of the late

Rose Peachin and the late David
Stern.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.
LEAH WOLIN, 90, of Flint, died
Dec. 31. She was an orginator of the
Congregation Beth Israel library; she
was one of the original officers of the
Michigan Branch of National Women's
League of Conservative Judaism and
past president of Sisterhood of Congre-
gation Beth Israel; served on the board
of Jewish Federation.
She is survived by her children,
Myrna (Leonard) Bragman of Porn-
pano Beach, Fla., Toby Katz of Grand
Blanc, Barbara (Sherman) Kirshner of/
Delray Beach, Fla., Sheldon (Carol)
Wolin of Grand Blanc, Mayna
(Marty) Abrams of Chicago; brother,
Nathan Goldstein of Flint; 10 grand-
children. She was the wife of the late
David Wolin.
Services were held at Congrega-
tion Beth Israel. Interment in Mach-{
pelah Cemetery. Contributions may

ETTA WYKOFF, 88, of Southfield,
died Jan. 1. For 47 years, Mrs. Wykoff
taught Special Education in Detroit. 1-\,
She was a member of B'nai David, a
docent for the Detroit Zoological
Society for 20 years and was a mem- j
ber of B'nai B'rith and its first presi--(= \
dent of the Professional and Business
Chapter.
Mrs. Wykoff is survived by her
sister and brother-in-law, Anne and 1
Jack Kraizman; nieces and nephews,
Renita and Robert Linkner, Sidney (
and Helen Kraizman, Toni and
Orren Tikkanen, Ray and Laura Sier'
gal and grandnieces and grand-
nephews. She was the beloved wifel_ \
of the late Albert Wykoff.
Interment at Hebrew Memorial
