Obituaries

SARA BAHR, 81, formerly of Detroit

of Coconut Creek, Fla., died Oct. 19.
She was an administrative assistant in
the Detroit Public School system for
over 20 years. She is survived by her
husband, Bernie Bahr; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Ted and Carol Bahr of Sil-
ver Spring, Md.; two daughters, Mari-
lyn Esner of Philadelphia and Diane
Bahr of Berkeley, Calif.; sister Martha
(Mushie) Bailey of Walnut Creek,
Calif.; grandchildren, Benjamin Esner,
Rebecca Bahr-Reiser and Adam Bahr.
Services and interment were held at
Star of David in Tamarac, Fla. Contri-
butions may be made to the United
Jewish Appeal.

ton Woods, died Oct. 22. Mr. Epstein
was the owner of Dox Automotive; an
auto parts business. He was a member
of the Jewish War Veterans and a past
commander of the Rafelson Chapter.
Mr. Epstein is survived by his wife,
Yetta Epstein; son and daughter-in-law,
Leslie Neil and Joyce Epstein of South-
field; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy
and Dr. Richard Bratt of West Bloom-
field; grandchildren, Marci and
Andrew Bratt and sisters-in-law and
brother-in-law, Ann Bogrow and Dr.
Morris and Roslyn Rubin. He was the
dear brother of the late Miriam
Schwartz and the late Murray Epstein.
Interment at Hebrew Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed to
the Alzheimers Foundation. Arrange-
ments by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

MARIAN GALIN, 97, of San Diego,

formerly of Detroit, died Oct. 11.
Mrs. Galin was a member of Adat
Shalom Synagogue, a 25 year volunteer
at Children's Hospital, member of the
Zedakah Club, volunteer with Service
With Love, a member of the Sinai
Hospital Auxiliary, a life member of
the Auxiliary at Children's Hospital
and a volunteer at Penrickton Nursery
for the Blind.
She is survived by her daughters
and son-in-law, Shirley and Sidney
Locke of San Diego, Jocelyn Canvasser
of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Dr.
Bruce Locke and Nancy Sway, Barbara
and Milford Nemer, Dr. Phillip and
Denise Levy, Lenard and Deena Can-
vasser, Paul Canvasser; great-grandchil-
dren, Alix and Larry Katz, Erica and
David Levesque, Emily Levy, Tammi
Levy, Zac Locke, Jesse Locke, Lori and
David Ettinger, Jonathan Weber, Car-
lyn Canvasser, Melissa Canvasser;
great-grandson, Adam Samuel Katz.
Mrs. Galin was the beloved wife of the

late David Galin; loving mother of the
late Eugene Daniel Galin; dear moth-
er-in-law of the late Darwin Canvasser.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memori-
-
al Park.

Darwin Canvasser Cancer Fund at
Harper Hospital or the Auxiliary - of
Children's Hospital of Michigan.

DANIEL IRA GARFIELD, 50, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct. 25. He is
survived by his uncle and aunt, Sol
and Sonia Garfield of West Bloom-
field; cousins David (Ilene) Garfield,
Dr. Donald (Eilene) Garfield, Marcia
(Martin) Friedman, Carol (Leslie)
Schefman; many loving friends. Daniel
was the beloved son of the late, Dr.

Morris D. and Mary Garfield.
Services were held at Machpelah
Cemetery Chapel, followed by inter-
ment in the cemetery. Contributions
can be made to the Karmanos Cancer
Institute, 18831 W.12 Mile, Lathrup
Village, MI 48076 or to the charity of
ones choice. Arrangements by Dorf-
man Funeral Direction.

YA'AKOV "YASHA" GINZACH,

87, of Tel Aviv, Israel, died Oct. 12.
Mr. Ginzach left Russia for Palestine
in 1930. He worked for the Dead Sea
Industries and in the construction of
Israel's first atomic reactor. An electri-
cal engineer, he later became a man-
ager in one of Israel's largest con-
struction companies. After his retire- •
ment, Mr. Ginzach was active in Tel
Aviv's Retirees Association and was
the chairman of its cultural commit-
tee. He organized lectures, trips all
over the country, vacation packages
and a variety of events for the senior
citizens of Tel Aviv. He also estab-
lished special clubs and counseling
services for the Tel Aviv retirees. For
this exemplary voluntary service, the
city of Tel Aviv awarded him the title
"Endeared Citizen of Tel Aviv" and
he was granted the "Distinguished
Volunteer" award.
Mr. Ginzach is survived by his wife,
Pnina Dobrushin-Ginzach; daughter
and son-in-law, Nira and Amos Lev of
Southfield; son and daughter-in-law,
Yosef and Gloria Ginzach of Israel;

grandchildren, Ron and Ori Lev, Shai,
Oren and Nava Ginzach.
