Kristallnacht in a special cere-
mony.
On Sunday, April 11,
1999, at 1 p.m., the HMC
and Shaarit Haplaytah will
sponsor the annual communi-
t-y-wide Holocaust commemo-
ration ceremony.
On Sunday, May 16, 1999,
at 2:30 p.m., the Holocaust
Memorial Center will present
in collaboration with Temple
Israel Abraham and Hannah,
an opera about the inmate
revolt that destroyed the
Treblinka death camp in
1943. The events dramatized
in Abraham and Hannah are
factual and based on the his-
torical records of the uprising.
This musical presentation will
be offered free of charge.
The HMC will also begin a
collaboration with Adventure
Films to produce the film Blue
Smoke at Dawn, a Town
Called Dachau in the new
year.
Other projects include the
launch of the HMC's
Medallion Endowment
Campaign in November. This
major fund-raising effort will
work to secure the continua-
tion and enhancement of the
Holocaust Memorial Center
and its programs.
Early in the new year, the
HMC will be featured on the
program "Open Doors,"
which airs on Channel 4 early
Sunday mornings.

group and the aim is still to
raise money to fund social
programs such as JARC and
Children's Hospital.
There is a permanent
plaque at the Kahn Jewish
Community Center to com-

contributions.
The group continues to
strive toward its ultimate goal,
