Town Hall
Meetings Set

The Lakes area will be the setting for
the first in a series of Town Hall meet-
ings sponsored by the Jewish
Community Council, aimed at reach-
ing out to new Jewish populations in
metropolitan Detroit. Hosted by
DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital,
the Lakes Area Town Hall Meeting
will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Sept. 16.
Developed in consultation with
organizational partners and area resi-
dents, each Town Hall meeting will
offer participants the opportunity to
learn about the various services pro-
vided by metro area Jewish organiza-
\_, tions, discuss their needs, and explore
the unique issues facing them as
Jewish members of their community.
The Council has invited leaders from
area congregations and agencies to
take part in the meetings and respond
to questions.
At the Sept. 16 meeting, Lakes area
residents will learn about the special
efforts being made by DMC-Huron
Th
., Valley Sinai to service and extend itself
to the local Jewish community.
Participants will also be led on a tour
of the newly remodeled facility.
The Town Hall Meetings are being
co-sponsored by The Detroit Jewish
News and each meeting will be hosted
by a local Jewish organization or com-
munal group. Additional Town Hall
meetings are planned for 1998-99 in
Troy/Rochester Hills, Royal
Oak/Ferndale, Grosse Pointe and
Plymouth/Canton.
