"MAU If far

For those who prefer a light sand-
wich at dinner, two will remain on the
new menu ... Portobella sandwich and
the popular ground sirloin burger on
an onion roll.
Tim Winterfield's culinary know-
how, coupled with competent service,
are certainly major reasons why Le
Metro's staying power of nine years
has gotten even stronger.
IT'S NOT OFTEN that a graduate
from the Culinary Institute of America
gets an insatiable passion outside the
realm of his cooking knowledge.
Especially, too, when he was also at
the noted Chez Nico in London,
England.
Michael Weinstein was never happy
with the way pizzas are made here ...
Not the same as New Haven or New
York, says Michael, who has put his
eagerness to show right from wrong in
the form of his own pizza operation.
He calls it Tomatoes Apizza, on
Halstead north of Grand River in
Farmington Hills, where folks who

red pizza with crushed tomatoes,
romano cheese, garlic and olive oil.

Not that there haven't been unsuc-
cessful cookbooks with outer good
looks, but the appeal is similar to pre-
sentation of food.
Like the man or woman said,
though, you can't judge a book by its
cover ... However, here comes one that
gives a fine hard cover and easy-to-
read inside contents of much interest.
The Healthy Generation by
Sisterhood of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek has over 500 recipes that took
more than three years to compile ... A
number of the formulas aren't found
in many other cookbooks, and seem
to have personal touches that fairly
ooze with taste-bud devotion.
Each recipe is also accompanied by
nutritional information (calories, sodi-
um, cholesterol, protein and fat) ...
running the dining gamut from appe-
