In honor of Father's Pay, The AppleTree is accepting
submissions from children aged 4-16. Please include
either or bath of the following as your submission:

1) A clear drawing by the child showing hint/her
with Pad. Drawings may be color or black and white,
using any medium. One entry per family please
(Pictures may show more than one child with father).

Beth Shalom
Night Of Song

Congregation Beth Shalom and the
Michigan Opera Theatre will join for
a "Night Of Song" 7 p.m. Sunday,
June 7, at the synagogue.
Funds raised by the event will
help furnish the synagogue's educa-
tion center currently under construc-
tion.
Third and fourth graders in Beth
Shalom's religious school will sing
songs from Joseph and the Technicolor
Dreamcoat. Six Beth Shalom high
school students will perform the
music of Andrew Lloyd Webber
along with the Michigan Opera The-
atre troupe. The opera theatre's
director, David DiChiera, and his
wife, Karen, will introduce the pro-
gram.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5
for children under 18. For tickets or
to donate items for the school, call

Beth El
Brotherhood

David Schwartz will begin his second
term as president of the Temple Beth
El Brotherhood when he and fellow
officers are honored at the brother-
hood's annual installation dinner. A
past president of Temple Beth Jacob
in Pontiac, Schwartz joined Beth El
when the Pontiac congregation
closed its doors. He continued his
commitment to volunteerism, imme-
diately taking an active role in the
Beth El Brotherhood where he served
as a vice president prior to assuming
the presidency in 1997.
Officers who will be serving with
Schwartz include Peter Goldberg,
Bruce Jacob, vice presidents; Ray-
mond Wert, Larry Warren,
treasurers; and Alan Goldberg, secre-
tary.
Also being installed are the mem-
bers of the board of directors: Grego-
ry Abidor, Jeffrey Berger, Adrian
Christie, Carl Cohen, Jerry Cole,
Robert Cobb, Sidney Dickstein, Her-
bert Goldstein, Harvey Goodman,
Marshall Hersh, Chuck Jacobowitz,
Steve Kohler, Curtis Kuttnauer, Alan

town obituaries is 10 a.m. Tues-
day, three days prior to issue date.

All material must be typewrit-
ten, double-spaced, on 81/2 x 11
paper and include the name,
address, and daytime telephone
number of sender.
