Jennifer Bloom
Jennifer Lauren Bloom will become a
bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on Satur-
day, May 23. She is the daughter of
Pamela and Ken-
neth Bloom, sister
of Natalie and
Stephanie, grand-
child of Hilda and
Mitcheal Bloom
and Madeline and
Harry Weinsaft.
Mitzvah pro-
jects included vol-
unteering at the
Denby Center orphanage, working at
the Temple Israel picnic and baby-sit-
ting during the High Holy Day services.
\--,,An honor student at Abbott Middle
School, Jennifer is interested in horse-
back riding, skiing, dance and piano.

Jeffrey Gross
Jeffrey Paul Gross will become a bar
mitzvah on Friday, May 22, at Temple
Israel. He is the son of Caryn and Dr.
Steven Gross,
brother of Stacey

and
Ian and

grandchild of Pearl
Blazofsky Morgan
and Pearl Gross.
He is also the
grandson of the
late Lloyd Blazof-
sky and the late
Paul Gross.
His most meaningful mitzvah pro-
ject was assisting seniors at the Fleis-
chman Residence. An honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School, Jeffrey is
interested in computers, basketball, ski-
ing and water sports.

David Silberman
David Silberman of Farmington Hills
will become a bar mitzvah at Adat
Shalom Synagogue on Monday, May
25. Rabbi Efry
Spectre, Rabbi
Daniel Nevins and
Cantor Howard
Glantz will lead
services.
Participating in
the ceremony will
be his parents,
\----,Lloyd and Ellen
(Kachalsky) Silber-
man, and his sister Mindy. Proud
grandparents are Shirley Sperling of
Lake Worth, Fla., Judah Silberman of
Suffern, N.Y., and Estelle Kachalsky of
Rye, N.Y. He also is the grandson of the
late Dr. Hyman Kachalsky.

2. Each entry must be typed or printed legibly (on a separate sheet of paper

3. First, second and third prizes will be awarded to winning entries.

4. You must be 21 or older to participate.

5. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and relevance to the topic.

6. The official form must accompany each entry. Reproductions of this form are acceptable.

7. Employees or family members of COJES agencies or the Detroit Jewish News are not eligible to participate.

8. All entries become the property of COJES.

9. Winners will be announced at the COJES community education program:"Vim, Vigor and Vitality: The Keys to Well -
Being" on Sunday, September 13,1998. You need not be present to win. Winning entries will be published in the

Detroit Jewish News.
