Bradley Cohen
Bradley David Cohen will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Friday,
May 22, at Temple Israel. He is the son
of Karen Cohen
and Marvin Cohen,
brother of Saman-
tha and grandchild
of Eleanor Dorf-
man. He is also the
grandson of the late
Joseph Dorfman
and the late
Gertrude and
Samuel Cohen.
Among his mitzvah projects were vol-
unteering at Yad Ezra and assembling
toiletries, clothing and books for the
needy at Temple Israel as well as donat-
ing to the American Heart Association.
Attending Dunckel Middle School, Brad
is interested in sports, music and cars.

Heather Kerwin
Heather Elyse Kerwin will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah at Temple
Beth El on Friday, May 22. Rabbi
Daniel Syme, Rabbi David Castiglione
and Cantor Steven Dubov will lead ser-
vices.
Participating in the ceremony will be
Heather's parents, Cheryl and Dr.
Ronald Kerwin and her brothers and
sister Leonard, Richard and Lauren.
Proud grandparents are Beverly and

Robert N. Canvasser and Thelma and
Dr. Paul Kerwin.
Heather is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at West Hills Middle School where
she is active in
school drama,
forensics and
sports. She enjoys
tap, jazz and hip-
hop dance in her
spare time.
Heather's mitz-
vah projects includ-
ed delivering food
at Yad Ezra, making
Shaloch manor baskets and delivering
them to the elderly, and helping to
rebuild the library at the Glazer Elemen-
tary School in Detroit.

Jessica Silverman
Jessica Elizabeth Silverman will become
a bat mitzvah on Saturday, May 23rd, at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Jessica is
the daughter of Lynn and Warren Silver-
man and the sister
of Nathan. Jessica's
proud grandpar-
ents are Dolores
and Hyman
Brown and Evelyn
and Isadore Silver-
man.
Jessica. attends
Berkshire Middle
School and
Shaarey Zedek Religious School. Her
mitzvah projects included donations to
JARC and the Starlight Foundation and
working at Beth Hayeled at Shaarey
Zedek. Jessica enjoys dance, singing in
the school choir and going to Camp
Tamarack. She will participate in Mac-
cabi games this summer.

Jonathan Gerstein
Jonathan Blake Gerstein will become a
bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Satur-
day, May 23. He is the son of Barbara
and Dr. Lawrence
Gerstein, brother
of Pamela, Stacie
and Jamie and
grandchild of
Frances and Irving
Gerstein and Beat-
rice and Irving
Winston.
For his mitzvah
projects, he volun-
teered at Yad Ezra and at Temple Israel,
as well as helping with fund-raisers for
the American Cancer Society A West
Hills student, Jonathan is interested in
hockey, collecting memorabilia, surfing
the net and following Michigan sporting
events.
