Ezra and helping to lead Passover seders
at the Teitel Building of the Jewish Fed-
eration Apartments. He is interested in
sports and will be playing chess for the
Detroit team at the Maccabi Games this
summer.
David also will celebrate his bar
mitzvah with a second ceremony in
Israel this summer with his family.
Aaron Friedman
Aaron Ross Friedman will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
May 23, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. Aaron is
the son of Marsha

Nikolai Sears
Nik Sears of Birmingham will be bar
mitzvah at the Birmingham Temple on
Friday, May 22. Rabbi Sherwin Wine
will lead services.
Participating in the ceremony will be
Nik's parents, Karen Kaufman Sears and
Jeffrey Sears.

Nik is a student
at Birmingham Covington School and
attends Hebrew school at the Birming-
ham Temple. He is active in basketball,
skiing, lacrosse and forensics, where he
was recently awarded a first place in the
middle school statewide competition for
performance in a duo.
Nik will present a paper on Theodor
Herzl in honor of Israel's 50th anniver--01
sary.
