Sara Canning grew up in Israel on
Kibbutz Kfar Maccabi. Her army ser-
vice took place during the Gulf War.
She has come to the Detroit Jewish

The Ecumenical Institute for Jewish-
Christian Studies will present a new
program titled "What's Faith Got To
Do With It?" 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
May 6, at Temple Shir Shalom.
The Rev. Richard C. Cheatham
(Franklin Community Church), Rabbi
Michael L. Moskowitz (Temple Shir
Shalom), and Msgr. Anthony M.
Tocco (St. Hugo of the Hills Church)
will examine the relevance of faith in
the modern world.
The first session will address the
topic of faith today. The second ses-
sion 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13,
will be an open forum designed to
address issues of concern to the audi-
ence. The sessions will last approxi-
mately one hour each evening. There
is no charge.

Chelst spoke at a Young Israel of Oak

April is a month which has many
Jewish memories. In the Shaarey
Zedek telecast this month, the pro-
ducer and host of the show, Geri
Levit, tries to include some of these
happenings.
Rabbi Irwin Groner, spiritual leader
of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, will
discuss the Holocaust; near the end of
the program, he gives a sermon about
Passover.
Professor Sidney Bolkosky, expert
in the field of Holocaust studies, dis=__ \
cusses his work with survivors.
Betty Kowalsky Stasson and Jerome
Stasson perform music from the movie
Shindler's List and Mr. Stasson tells of
his experience as a young Jewish sol-
dier, walking into the horror of
Buchenwald.
