Obituaries

BERNARD HANDELMAN, 81, of
Sarasota, Fla., died Jan. 27. Mr.
Handelman was a real estate develop-
er. He was a member of the
Birmingham Temple, Allied Jewish
Campaign and a member of the
Congregation for Humanistic
Judaism in Sarasota. He was also a
contributor for the Hadassah men's
civil rights group and supported
numerous causes in Israel.
Mr. Handelman is survived by his
wife, Ettie Handelman; sons and
daughters-in-law, Stephen and
Naomi Handelman of Southfield,
Howard and Charlene Handelman of
Detroit; daughters and sons-in-law,
Susie and Hillel Rosenfeld of Oak
Park, Sharon and Michael Silverton
of Farmington Hills, Marsha and
Fred Newman of Los Angeles; grand-
children, David and Kristy
Houghton, Ethan and Kate
Handelman, Shira Handelman,
Stephanie, Jeremy and Miriam
Rosenfeld, Beth and Jamie Newman,
Amy and Rachel Silverton; great-
grandchildren, Joshua and Taylor. He
was the beloved husband of the late
Frieda Handelman.
Interment at Beth El Memorial

JOSEPH HYMAN, 69, of Newton
Centre, Mass., formerly of Detroit,
died Jan. 23. Mr. Hyman was
founder and president of Hycor of
Woburn, Mass.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis
Hyman; daughters and son-in-law,
Miriam and Dan Weiner, Leah
Hyman, Beth Hyman; son and
daughter-in-law, Edward and Beth
Hyman; grandsons, Jeremy Hyman,
Alex Hyman; sister, Sophie Pearlstein
of Southfield.
Contributions may be made to
ROFEH International, 1710 Beacon
Street, Brookline, MA., or to a chari-
ty of one's choice.
Services were held at Temple
Reyim in Newton, Mass. Interment
in Randolph, Mass. This announce-
ment was placed at the request of the
family by Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

JOSEPH KELTON, 86, of
Southfield, died Jan. 28. Mr. Kelton
was self-employed in equipment
rental.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie
Kelton; son and daughter-in-law,

Michael and Phyllis Kelton of Ada;
grandson, David Kelton; brothers
and sisters-in-law, Ben and Ann
Kohlen, Al and Shirley Kelton of
Ann Arbor, Irving and Adele Kelton
of Fla.; sister, Rae Braun of Penn.;
brother-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Sam Schwartz, Ethel Klavons,
Gertrude Burston and Helen Kelton.

SALLY KOSIT, 79, of Farmington
Hills, died Jan. 30. Mrs. Kosit was
an executive at the Grand River
Buchanan Drug Store.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Barbara and Nick
Altwerger of Farmington Hills,
Nancy and Jay Waldman of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
David Altwerger, Melissa Waldman,
Stacey Waldman; sisters, Ida Katz of
Southfield, Bessie Piper of
Southfield; sisters-in-law and broth-
er-in-law, Sylvia and Clyde Burtrum
and Edith Kosit. Mrs. Kosit was the
beloved wife of the late Aaron Kosit
and the dear sister of the late
Rebecca Corwin, the late Maurice
Klayman and the late Sarah Katz.
Interment at Adat Shalom

MILTON KUSHKIN, of Los
Angeles, died Jan. 31. Mr. Kushkin
was the vice president of A.
Schulman Inc.
He is survived by his wife,
Henrietta Kushkin; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Larry and Nancy Kushkin —`
of West Bloomfield; daughter and
son-in-law, Susan and Daniel Wolff
of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Julie,
Dana and Karen Kushkin, Laura and
Bob Harwayne, Patricia and Emily
Wolff; sister, Doris Galin of Akron,
Ohio.
Interment in California. This

ARTHUR OSCAR KUTNICK, 78,
former Detroiter of Phoenix, Ariz.,
died Jan. 11. He was the owner of
Art Scrap Metal Co. in Detroit and a
