Obituaries

BERNARD HANDELMAN, 81, of
Sarasota, Fla., died Jan. 27. Mr.
Handelman was a real estate develop-
er. He was a member of the
Birmingham Temple, Allied Jewish
Campaign and a member of the
Congregation for Humanistic
Judaism in Sarasota. He was also a
contributor for the Hadassah men's
civil rights group and supported
numerous causes in Israel.
Mr. Handelman is survived by his
wife, Ettie Handelman; sons and
daughters-in-law, Stephen and
Naomi Handelman of Southfield,
Howard and Charlene Handelman of
Detroit; daughters and sons-in-law,
Susie and Hillel Rosenfeld of Oak
Park, Sharon and Michael Silverton
of Farmington Hills, Marsha and
Fred Newman of Los Angeles; grand-
children, David and Kristy
Houghton, Ethan and Kate
Handelman, Shira Handelman,
Stephanie, Jeremy and Miriam
Rosenfeld, Beth and Jamie Newman,

was the beloved husband of the late

JOSEPH HYMAN, 69, of Newton
Centre, Mass., formerly of Detroit,
died Jan. 23. Mr. Hyman was
founder and president of Hycor of
Woburn, Mass.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis

Miriam and Dan Weiner, Leah
Hyman, Beth Hyman; son and
daughter-in-law, Edward and Beth
Hyman; grandsons, Jeremy Hyman,
Alex Hyman; sister, Sophie Pearlstein

ARTHUR OSCAR KUTNICK, 78,
former Detroiter of Phoenix, Ariz.,
