now with a lot of dishes they didn't
have ... smoked salmon pate, potato
crusted whitefish, etc. ... The omelet
station is there again along with
prime rib, French toast and other
standbys.
A salad station by NLSC has peel-
and-eat shrimp, spinach and mush-
room salad, etc. ... and the dessert sta-
tion of tortes, cheesecake, etc., is
loaded with goodies.
Matt and his NLSC managing
partner, Keith Schofield, take reserva-
tions for the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. brunch
... $22.95 adults, $12 children, and
free for kids 5 and under.

on his 81st birthday ... and to Iz and
Fran on their 60th anniversary four
days later.
ENVOY restaurant in Simsbury

menus, I came across one from 1939
that had me give a second long look
... Wonder how many know that the

"Under the Management of Lester
Gruber, Formerly of the London
Bar."
Even then Les had his wine cellar
stocked full of chateau-bottled vintage
wines ... And only imported wines
were sold ... by the bottle or glass.
Most expensive dinners at Heed's
Chop House were whole broiled lob- \--\
ster and special sirloin steak ... each
$1.50.
A boneless perch dinner for which
the London Chop House received
wide note, was then 65 cents ... Its
chef, Eddie Dobler, was "Famous as
