managers when the Whitney was
opened by John McCarthy, Ron Fox
and Dick Kuhn ... From 1980 to
1990, Brian was head waiter at the
former Jacques on Telegraph (now
Morel's) and has been g.m. at Pike
Street Restaurant since 1991.

Brian is also an accomplished floral
designer whose arrangements and cen-
terpieces at Pike Street banquets have
become big talking points for their
fresh beauty and innovative design.
About the service that Al has at
Pike Street, it is probably among the
best anywhere ... with excellent servers
like tuxedo-garbed Chris Green, Azis
Zouhri, etc.
Upstairs is a large very comfortable
room for 175 people that can, if need-
ed, be divided into 125 and 50 or less
... with a lot of intimate charm that
includes turn-of-the-century-like
chandeliers, etc.
People are discovering this banquet
room with much elation ... It seems to
be just what so many are looking for.
The restaurant downstairs is avail-
• able for party takeover on Sundays
and Saturdays during the day.
A wine cellar that accommodates
another five to 20 people for an inter-
esting private meeting or small parry
has been honored yearly by Wine Spec-
tator magazine ... It has an inventory
of about 2,000 bottles of wine with
260 different brands.
