ALVIN LEWIS, 85, of West Palm
Beach, died Dec. 29. Mr. Lewis was a
clothing executive and a veteran who
served in Japan during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Toby and Milton
Abramson of West Bloomfield, Linda
and Dan Wilkinson of Longwood,
Fla.; grandchildren, Joel and Robert
Abramson, Craig and Lauren
Wilkinson; sister-in-law, Tilla
Goldstein. Mr. Lewis was the beloved
husband of the late Anita Lewis.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the American Heart

EDITH EMERMAN MARWIL, 83,
of Franklin, died Jan. 5.
She is survived by her daughters

Ronna Schmerin, Matthew and Julie
Kasle, Brian and Eric Shulman;

Beth Braunstein. Mrs. Marwil was
the beloved wife of the late David
Emerman and the late Dr. Thomas
Marwil; loving grandmother of the
late Jennifer Schmerin.

MARGARET MILLER, 86, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 31. She was a
volunteer at Borman Hall for many
years.
She is survived . by her sister-in-law,

nieces and nephews, Saralee and
Robin Rund of Plymouth, Rosalyn
and Eugene Katz of Ossing, N.Y.,
Irene and Alex Kamaroff of New York
City, Maragret and Joel Shere of West
Bloomfield. She was the beloved wife
of the late Leon Miller; sister of the

late Hyman Goodman and the late
Sarah McGhee.

rial service was held at the Danto
Family Health Center in West
Bloomfield.

PAULINE RAPPOPORT, 78, of
Southfield, died Jan. 2. Mrs.
Rappoport was a life member of
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses and a charter member of the
Louis Marshall Chapter of B'nai B'rith
and an Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Ilene
Rappoport of West Bloomfield;
daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and
Dr. Max Mendelson of Fla.; grand-
children, Bruce and Robin Aston, Erin
Aston, Mark Aston, Sherie Rappoport,
Alyse and Dr. Mark Torbiner; great-
grandchildren, Adam Aston, Maxwell
Torbiner; brother, Max M. Shaye of
Franklin. She was the beloved wife of
the late Oscar Rappoport; loving
mother of the late Sylvia Rappoport;
dear sister of the late Sol Shaye and
the late Nate Shaye.
Interment at Beth Moses Cemetery.

DR. ABRAHAM S. ROGOFF, 99, of
West Bloomfield, died Dec. 27. For
56 years, Dr. Rogoff had a family
medical practice. He spent four years
in the Army Medical Corps during
World War II and attained the rank of
major; he was chief medical officer at
Fort Slocum, N.Y. Dr. Rogoff was a
graduate of the University of
Michigan Medical School in 1927, a
past president of the Michigan Jewish
Historical Society and a member of
Temple Beth El.
He is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Jerome and Erika
Rogoff of Mass.; daughter, Evelyn
Madison of Farmington Hills; grand-
children, Lisa Ruby, Diane and Wayne
Titche, Laura Langham, Ronald
Madison, Adam Rogoff, Erika Rogoff;
seven great-grandchildren. Dr. Rogoff
was the beloved husband of the late
Sarah Rogoff.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Temple Beth El, 7400
