LOUIS I. HOFFMAN, 92, of
Southfield, died Jan. 5.
He is survived by his daughters and
son-in-law, Beverly Taub, Florine and
Peter Ministrelli of West Bloomfield;
brother and sister-in-law, Harry and
Annette Hoffman; grandchildren,
Jeffrey Taub, Marc and Brenda Taub;
great-granddaughter, Hannah Iliza
Taub; dear friend, Mollie Samovitz.
Mr. Hoffman was the beloved hus-
band of the late Ida Hoffman; loving
brother of the late Max Hoffman.

RUTH HOFFMAN, 85, former
Detroiter of Sunrise, Fla., died Dec. 22.
She is survived by her son, Jerry
Hoffman of Seattle, Wash.; daughter,
Helene Adler of Dayton, Ohio; grand-
children, David and Sharon; great-
granddaughter, Ashtyn; sister, Roslyn
Goldfarb. Services and interment in

Miami Beach, Fla.

JONATHAN LOUIS KAPLAN, 36,
of New York, died Dec. 28.
He is survived by his wife, Mimi .
Spiwak Kaplan, formerly of
Bloomfield Hills; parents, George and
Betsy Kaplan of Jerusalem, Israel;
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr.
Bertram and Audrey Spiwak of
Bloomfield Hills; a grandparent; three
sisters. Interment in New York.

RUTH KAPLAN, 83, of Southfield,
died Dec. 31.
She is survived by her son, Michael
Kaplan of Farmington Hills; brother
and sister-in-law, Robert and Gertrude
Berman of Birmingham; grandchil-
dren, Barry and Shannon Moss, Greg
Merkow, Alison Merkow; great-grand-
children, Ryan Merkow, Lauren and
Hunter Moss. She was the beloved
wife of the late Irving (Bucks) Kaplan;
mother of the late Shelly Merkow.
Graveside services were held at Adat
Shalom Cemetery in Livonia.

grandchildren, Jeremy Koller,
Shoshana and Keith Arthur, Melanie
Beneson, Beth Beneson. Mrs. Koller
was the beloved wife of the late Leib
Koller.

Berkeley, Bernard and Stephanie
Kotlier of San Jose, Calif.; sister and
brother-in-law, Matya and Ricardo

Ms. Kotlier was the loving daughter of
the late Irving Kotlier.

SADIE LACHAR, 88, of Farmington
Hills, died Dec. 30.
She is survived by her sisters and

SARA LEVINE, 88, of Southfield,
died Jan. 2. Mrs. Levine was an ele-
mentary school teacher in Fraser.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary
Levine of East Lansing; grandchildren,
Jessica and Brian Levine. Mrs. Levine
was the beloved wife of the late Joseph
Levine.
