LEAH SARAH KAPLAN, formerly
of Southfield of Highland Beach,
Fla., died Dec. 18. She was an active
member of Congregation Beth
Aaron as well as president of its sis-
terhood and the first woman to be
(chairman of a synagogue committee,
the Youth Commission. Mrs. Kaplan
was also president of Village Group
Hadassah.
She is survived by her husband of
57 years, Dr. Albert Kaplan; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Dianna and
Richard Fine of St. Louis, Mo.; son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. David and
Eileen Kaplan of Half Moon Bay,
litCalif.; grandchildren, Marci and
Jason Fine; sister, Vivian Berry.

BARBARA KNEESHAW, 55, of
(Detroit, died Dec. 18. For over 25
years, Mrs. Kneeshaw was an eco-
nomics instructor at Wayne County
Community College. She was also
an active member, local steward and
chief negotiator of AFT Local 2000.
Mrs. Kneeshaw is survived by her
husband, Thomas Kneeshaw; daugh-
ter, Rachel Kneeshaw of Boston;
...brother and sister-in-law, Edward
"nd Faygie Foster.
Interment at Lambton Mills

FRED KUSHNER, 77, of Oak

iRVING LAYNE, 67, of Rochester,
'died Dec. 18. Mr. Layne was a con-
struction superintendent.

Bloomfield Hills, died Dec. 18. Mrs.
Lewis was a jewelry store executive.
She is survived by her daughter

Melvyn Eder of Bloomfield Hills;
Son, Barry Lewis of Mass.; grand-
children, Marla Eder and Jimmy
Wujczyk, Gayle and Harvey Freed,
Louis Eder, Alexander and Benjamin
Lewis. Mrs. Lewis was the beloved
wife of the late Louie Lewinstein
and the dear sister of the late Leo
Ittigson.

HARRY MAZUR, 78, of
Farmington Hills, died Dec. 21. Mr.
Mazur was a manager for Warehouse
City Foods.
He is survived by his wife, Selma
Mazur; son and daughter-in-law,

Farmington Hills; daughter and son-
in-law, Marcia and Dr. Barry Auster
of Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Leslie and Joel Mazur, Erica, Elana
and Rachel Auster; sister and broth-
er-in-law, Sally and David Wein of
Tamarac, Fla.; brother and sister-in-
law, Leo and Ruth Mazur of St.
Petersberg, Fla. Mr. Mazur was the
dear brother of the late Meyer
Mazur.
