Beth El
Blood Drive

The Temple Beth El Brotherhood, in
cooperation with the American Red
Cross, will hold its semi-annual
blood drive 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Sunday,
Nov. 23, at the temple.
For donor convenience, appoint-
ments may be scheduled by calling
Byron Siegel (248) 354-2500 (w), or
(248) 626-1666 (h). Though walk-
ins are welcome, appointments will
be given preference.

JCC Plans
Photo Exhibit

A community photo exhibit will
take place at both JCC buildings in
January to display photographs
taken in Israel in 1996 and 1997
by community members of all
ages.
To participate, submit a photo
(one photo per person only). It must
be an 8"x 10" print, landscape or
portrait with a 3"x 5" index card
with a brief typewritten description
including date, place and subject,
name of photographer, age of pho-
tographer (or designate adult) and
city of residence. If the photo was
taken on a mission trip, note the
name of the mission.
Send or deliver photo to: Beth
Greenapple, Director of Judaic
Enrichment, 6600 W. Maple Road,
West Bloomfield, MI 48322. Photos
must be received by Monday, Dec. 8.

Late submissions will be included at
the discretion of the program com-
mittee.
To have a photo returned, enclosej
a stamped, self-addressed envelope. '
Do not send negatives or the only
copy of a favorite picture.

Jewish Learning
At The JCC

The Judaic Enrichment Department
at the JCC offers Jewish learning
opportunities in cooperation with
teachers and agencies throughout
the Detroit Metropolitan communi-
ty.
A Jewish Look at the Messianic
Concept will be held 7:30-9 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 1 for three Mondays.
Rabbi Amy B. Brodsky of the
Ecumenical Institute for Jewish-
Christian Studies will conduct the
class. Cost for this series of three
classes is $15 for members of JCC or
$20 for non-members. Class is held
at the Maple/Drake JCC.
Why Bad Things Happen To
Good People takes place 7:30-
8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9. Rabbi
Jacobovitz will explore answers to
this question. This lecture is free
and will be held at the Oak Park
JCC.
Abortion, Kevorkian & Judaism
will be a free lecture by Rabbi
Avraham Jacobovitz 7:30- 8:45 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Oak Park
JCC.
