The Laker Concert will be held 3 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 7, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.
The concert will feature interna-
tional singing star David Broza and
'comedian Herschel Fox. Also appear-
ing will be the Shaarey Zedek Youth
Choir directed by Deena Pearlman
Weisberg.
This event is open to the public
free of charge. Tickets and reservations
are not required and the audience will
be seated on a first come, first serve
basis.
The American Committee for the
Weizmann Institute of Science,
Michigan Region, will hold its annual
Women and Science luncheon pro-
gram dedicated to women's health
issues 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 10,
at Temple Israel.
The keynote speech,
"Women's Health in
the 21st Century"
will be delivered by
Susan Blumenthal,
deputy assistant sec-
retary for health and
assistant surgeon
general U.S.
Department of
Health and Human
Susan Blumenthal Services. She is a
national expert in
women's health and mental illness,
and has been a leader in bringing
these important public health issues to
scientific and public attention.
The price for the lunch and pro-
gram is $40 per person and reserva-
tions are mandatory. No tickets will be
