Anniversary Lunch

Marshall-Israel-Brandeis Chapter,
Jewish Women International, will cele-
brate its 44th anniversary noon
Thursday, Oct. 30, at Beth Achim
Synagogue. Lunch will be served fol-
lowed by a program on magic and
superstition in Judaism, presented by
Esther Tarnoff Cooper.
There is a charge. Reservations are

Sisterhood
Tours' Egypt

The Temple Shir Shalom
Sisterhood will tour the "Splendors of
Ancient Egypt" 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2.
Carpools will leave the temple at 9:30
a.m.
Brunch will be available after the
tour through the DIA Brunch with
Bach program. The tour is $15.

Plans Event

Ko-ach Chapter of Women's
American ORT recently installed new
board members. They are Margo
Miller, Lisa Brown, Shelly Mendelson,
Sherry Cohen, Jamie Benovic, Kitty
Shecter, Heather Cykiert, Wendy
Arnold, Marsha Margolis, Elysa Weil,
Jeanne Appel, Judy Berman and Renee
Kay.
The next event will be 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Ken Levy's
Executive Boxing Club, located on the
Northwestern Highway, just north of
14 Mile Rd. in West Bloomfield.

Bingo will be played at the Jewish
Community Center in Oak Park with
caller Howard Guttman, 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 27. Refreshments will
be served. There is a fee.
Flu shots will be given by Oakland
County Health Department 1-3 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 27. Those requiring

shots are asked to bring their
Medicare/Medicaid card and picture
ID with their current address. For per-
sons who do not have Medicare or
Medicaid, a $3 fee will be charged.
A party sponsored by the Jerome
Glassman family will take place 1 p.m.
on Thursday, Oct. 30. The Sam
Barnett Orchestra will provide dance
music. The event is free.

Temple Treasures
Host Speaker

Nate Garfinkel, concentration
camp survivor, will be the featured
speaker at the next meeting of the
Temple Treasures, noon Wednesday,
Oct. 29, at Temple Israel. He will pre-
sent a short film on famous people
who have visited West Bloomfield's
Holocaust Memorial Center.
Luncheon will be served at the
meeting; there is a charge. For infor-

Helayne Shaw for Ma'at Shabbat 9:30
- 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Register, through the temple office,
(248) 737-8700. Ma'at Shabbat is free
of charge. Registration is appreciated.
Ma'at Shabbat is geared toward chil-
