both the Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Studies and the AJE school

ments are in transition this year:

Midrasha is cutting back on semester-
long Judaica courses while offering
more outreach programs, said
Phillips. Newcomer Amy Milner will
be assisting her.
Teen programs coordinator Jeff
Lazar came to the AJE in August to
run a new project called Teens for
Tikkun Olam, but was quickly pro-
moted. An active community volun-
teer since his childhood, Lazar has
worked extensively for the National
Council of Synagogue Youth
(NCSY). While continuing to coordi-
nate Teens for Tikkun Olam, he also
hopes to enhance the social action
component of Jewish education and
