active in the Mt. Carmel Hospital

National Fund and the Beth Achim
Sisterhood.
Mrs. Wiener is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. Edward and
Nettie Wiener of Golden Beach, Fla.;
grandchildren, Adam and Jordan
Wiener; sister, Evelyn Ross of Ohio;

brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Martin
and Jean Daitch of West Bloomfield.
She was the beloved wife of the late I
Dr. Israel Wiener. Interment at

DANIL YUSHKOVSKY, 88, of Oak
Park, died Oct. 8.
He is survived by his wife, Fanya;
son and daughter-in-law, Jim and
Ella Yushkovsky of Farmington Hills;
four grandchildren; one great-grand-
child. Mr. Yushkovsky was the loving
father of the late Isabell.

ike the patriarch Abraham,
Jordan Elgrably calls himself
an Ivri, or Hebrew, and lefi-ar
his homeland on God's
command to' find his true identity.
But he came back.
And he is editing a newspaper forte
other Ivrim.
Elgrably, 39, the Los Angeles-born
son of a French-Moroccan Jewish
emigre father and a Lithuanian-
descended Jewish mother, spent 10
years as a freelance journalist in
Europe.
He lives in Los Angeles again a
is editor of Nasawi News, a quarte ./,k
English-language Sephardic publica-
tion whose first issue was distribute
last month at Jewish community ce n
ters, synagogues and Jewish stores
nationwide.
The newspaper's Arabic-sounding
name is an acronym for the Nation
Association of Sephardic Artists,
Writers & Intellectuals, a L.A.-based
cultural organization.
The publication, billed as the first
national Sephardic newspaper to 44
appear in this country for 72 years, is
a precursor to IVRI, a bimonthly
national magazine due out at the end
of the year. ❑
