chairman of. The Limited Inc., and his mother, Mrs. Bella Wexner. The Founda-
tion is committed to the recruitment and enhancement of Jewish leadership.

The Wexner Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to encourage the
most promising and talented Jewish men and women to pursue full-time
graduate studies leading to careers in professional Jewish leadership.
The program provides full academic tuition, generous living stipends
and annual Foundation-sponsored institutes and learning experiences.
Fellowships are awarded to outstanding candidates who demonstrate
the potential to assume major leadership positions in the fields of Jewish
Education, Jewish Communal Service, the Rabbinate, the Cantorate
and Jewish Studies.

Rabbi Elimelech Goldberg, rabbi of
the Young Israel of Southfield for the
last 14 years, has been elected to be an
associate vice president of the National
Council of Young Israel. Rabbi
Goldberg is a member of the presidi-
um of the Council of Orthodox
Rabbis of Greater Detroit and the
chairman of Project Achim which is
the united community response to
caring for the New American popula-
tion. He is also the summer-time
director of Camp Simcha, a program
for children with cancers and other
such chronic diseases.

Davya Cohen is a finalist in the Artists
Magazine 1997 annual art competi-
tion. Mrs. Cohen's colored pencil
drawing Bibelots was one of more
than 10,000 entries in this year's con-
test. She will be honored as an associ-
ate member of the International
Artists Society.

Miroslav Lysyuk of Hamtramck was
one of the finalists in a national poster
contest sponsored by HIAS, the
Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
Lysyuk received a savings bond and
his poster will be part of the 1998
HIAS children's art calendar.

Machon Hosts
Three Lectures

Machon L'Torah, the Jewish Learning
Network of Michigan, will hold a lec-
ture 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at
1335 Hill St., Ann Arbor. Rabbi
Avrahom Jacobovitz will lead a discus-
sion on "Royal Encounters: A Deeper
Look into the Rosh Hashanah
Experience." There is no charge.
Refreshments will be served.

second session of its "Six Short Steps
To Basic Judaism," 7:15 p.m. Tuesday,

evening there will be Shabbat dinner

Youth Plan
Local Kinnus

Congregation B'nai Moshe's USY
chapter will host the 1997 Central
Region Kinnus North from Oct. 31-
Nov. 2. The convention will begin
with opening ceremonies at 3 p.m. on
Friday, Oct. 31. One highlight will be
a dance Saturday night with Star Trax.
