Art, Home Tour
Planned
Swiss Ambassador
Gives Talk
The Women's Division Sponsor
Society of State of Israel Bonds,
chaired by Margie Krasnick and
Bluma Schechter, will host its 15th
Annual Art and Home Tour, 9:30
a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The tour will visit the Bloomfield
Hills homes of Rosalie and Melvin
Kolbert, Lila and Gilbert Silverman
and Bluma and Robert Schechter,
where a petite breakfast meeting will
be held. Bus transportation between
the homes will be provided.
Participation on the tour is based
on a 1997 Israel Bonds purchase of
$1,500 or more. These investors will

Students Complete
Project Join
Fifteen metropolitan Detroit area col-
lege students recently completed
eight-week internships through the
Jeanette & Oscar Cook Jewish
Occupational Intern (JOIN) program.
The interns learned first-hand what
a career in Jewish communal service
could offer while gaining valuable
work experience. They were matched
with nonprofit organizations and
worked in the areas of business
dministration, communications and
public affairs, research and planning,
human services and recreation.

Andrea User, Melissa Faxon, Dana

Sponsors Pin, designed exclusively for
the Women's Division by the popular
Israeli artist Maya Offer.

Robert A. Rockaway, senior lecturer at
Tel Aviv University, will present his
perspective on Jewish Detroit history
of the 1920s and '30s 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Maple-Drake

raised in Detroit, Dr. Rockaway
received his Ph.D. in history from the
