STANLEY P. SAX, 71, of
Bloomfield Hills, died July 17.
He was a researcher in 1942
for Market Research Company
of America and in 1948 was an
instructor at the University of
Wisconsin. From 1948-57, he
was vice president and director
of American Buff Company in
Detroit. Later he was president
of Speedway Buff Company,
Buff Sales Company and Sax
Abrasive Corporation. He be-
came chairman and president
of the board ofJ.J. Siefen Com-
pany and Sax California Corpo-
ration. Mr. Sax was the owner
and founder of Stan Sax Corpo-
ration, a metal finishing com-
pany.
He was a member of the
Birmingham Temple and a
committee member for the
Fine Arts at the Diplomatic Re-
ception Room State Depart-
ment in Washington, D.C. He
also was a member of the DIA
Founders Society and a Lt.
Colonel in the U.S. Army dur-
ing World War II. He was an
Elk, Rotarian and a member of
the Economic Club of Detroit.
Mr. Sax is survived by his
wife, Patricia Sax; son and
daughter-in-law, David and
Nancy Sax of West Bloomfield;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Catherine and Gary Sala of
Royal Oak, Carolyn Leach and
George Gardner of Merrimack,
N.H.; grandchildren, Jacque-
line, Joshua and Megan Rosen,
Evan Sala, Amanda and Olivia
Sax. He was the loving father
of the late Steven Sax.

beloved husband of the late Ar-
line Scarbnick.
