RUTH P. SOFEN, 85, of Kala-
mazoo, died July 15. Mrs. Sofen
was a member of Congregation
Moses and its sisterhood and
was also a member of Hadas-
sah.
Mrs. Sofen is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Judi
and Alan Silverman of Kalama-
zoo; sons and daughter-in-law,
Gene Sofen, Dr. Andrew and
Carol Sofen of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Amy and
Joshua Silverman, Bryan and
Lauren Sofen; sister, Laura
Wise of Farmington. Mrs. Sofen
was the beloved wife of the late
Morris Sofen.
Services and interment were

JAMES A. STARK, 63, of
Grand Rapids, died July 19. He
was a long-time member of
Grand Rapids' Temple
Emanuel and B'nai B'rith.
He is survived by his wife,

Stark of Grand Rapids, Glen
and Kathy Stark of Huntington
Woods; grandchildren, Hannah
and Benjamin; sisters and

PEARL STELLAR, 81, of
Beverly Hills, Mich., died July
19.
She is survived by her sis-

Mrs. Stellar was the loving sis-
ter of the late Al Stolarsky, the
