Ms. Friedman has been a
member of B'nai Moshe since
1968. She chaired the Adult Ed-
ucation Committee during its
"Shabbat Shaboom!" program
and has been an active member
of the sisterhood, the Synagogue
Programming Committee, and
the Cantor's Concert Commit-
tee. She has been a longtime
member of the synagogue board,
serving most recently as record-
ing secretary.
Ms. Friedman is a docent at
the Holocaust Memorial Center
and a member of the auxiliary
of Oakland General Hospital.
Also to be installed are vice pres-
idents Harold Greenspan, Nan-
cy Kaplan, and Mary Zucker;
treasurer Joel Ungar; recording
secretary Kerry Greenhut; cor-
responding secretary Annette
Kaufman; trustees for three
years: Marc Betman, Lorraine

Synagogues Cite
Schechters, Bergs

Richard and Elissa Berg from
Beth Shalom and Robert and
Bluma Schechter from Shaarey
Zedek will be honored at their re-
spective synagogues on June 14
during Shabbat morning services.
They will be presented with the
Jewish Theological Seminary's
Second Century award for out-
standing leadership.
On June 23 the Bergs and
Schechters will be acknowl-
edged along with other syna-
gogue honorees at the annual
Detroit JTS Gala. This year's
guest speaker will be Rabbi
David Wolpe.
Mr. Berg is a past president
of Beth Shalom, after having
served on the board for many
years.. Together, the Bergs
chaired the Cultural Commit-
tee, and JEFF Committee.
Mr. Berg is president of
Richard D. Berg and Company,
Spectrum Financial Corpora-
tion, which offers insurance and
financial planning products.
