and for 50 years, Herbert Kaufman
has upheld the standard of service
to the community expected of THE
IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL.

Lori Horwitz,
A Dedicated Volunteer

Lori Horwitz, 33, died Dec. 31 after a six-year
battle with brain cancer.
In 1994, after undergoing three surgeries,
Ms. Horwitz treated her mother Susan to a
10-day vacation in Alaska to celebrate her
mother's retirement and her
own good health.
Throughout her illness, Ms.
Horwitz continued her work as
a person-to-person volunteer
with the Jewish Association for
Residential Care. She also con-
tinued to volunteer for the Red
Cross and the Michigan Jew-
ish AIDS Coalition. She was a
member of the American Brain
Tumor Association.
Ms. Horwitz graduated from
Southfield High School in 1981
and from Michigan State Uni-
versity in 1985. As a student of
criminology, she attended
school at Cambridge Universi- Lori Horwitz
ty in England for one semes-
ter.
Ms. Horwitz was remembered at her funer-
al by a childhood friend, Rabbi Michael Ungar
of Montclair, N.J.:

4-Part Workshop for Male Caregivers

Jewish Family Service presents a 4-part workshop for men who serve
as the caregiver for their loved one. The program provides
information and support for the concerns of male caregivers.

The workshop is scheduled on Tuesday mornings between
10:00-11:30 a.m., January 14, January 21, January 28 and February 4,
1997, at Jewish Family Service, 24123 Greenfield in Southfield, MI
(south of 10 Mile Road).

Dayna Adler. Mrs. Adler was
the beloved wife of the late Col-
man Adler; loving sister of the
late Sidney Edelman and the
late Mildred Dinces.

you touched my life and the
lives of more people than you
can possibly imagine — and we
will never be the same."
Ms. Horwitz is survived by
her mother, Susan; sisters and
brother-in-law, Alene and Jef-
frey Feinstein of Oak Park,
Linda of Chicago; brother and
sister-in-law, Lawrence and
Marla of Beverly Hills. She was
the loving daughter of the late
Bertrand Horwitz. Interment
at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
