House Arrest
Ends For Marzel
Jerusalem (JTA) — Kach activist
Baruch Marzel has gone from
pariah to the Knesset.
The Hebron activist held talks
in the Knesset, after orders re-
stricting his movements expired.
It marked the first time in
three years that Mr. Marzel was
not under house arrest.
The militantly anti-Arab Kach
group was outlawed by Israel af-
ter Kiryat Arba settler Dr.
Baruch Goldstein massacred 29
Palestinian worshipers in Feb-
ruary 1994 at the Tomb of the
Patriarchs.
Mr. Marzel met with Knesset
members from the Moledet and
Shas parties to discuss the ad-
ministrative detentions recently
imposed on several other Jewish
right-wing extremists from the
Hebron area.
The detentions were ordered
to prevent extremist violence pri-
or to the planned redeployment
of Israeli troops in Hebron.
