JWV Plan
Convention

The Michigan Jewish War Vet-
erans and Ladies' Auxiliary will
open the three-day, 55th Annu-
al Convention celebrating the
100th anniversary of JWV on
Friday, June 21, 7:30 p.m. with
the presentation of 29 college
scholarships.
The scholarships will be
awarded at a Shabbat service
at the Jewish War Veterans
Memorial Home, marking the
37th year of the program.
Temple Israel will honor
Jewish veterans at a service
on Saturday, June 22, at 10:30
a.m.
At 2 p.m. National Service Of-
ficer Irving Keller will offer a
public veteran benefits seminar
at the memorial home that will
include a booklet on veteran
benefits and services.
All JWV past department
commanders and past depart-
ment auxiliary presidents
will be honored at a dinner-
dance Saturday evening, 7 p.m.
at the Northfield Hilton Hotel
in Troy.
The convention will continue
on Sunday, June 23, at the ho-
tel with a memorial service at
10 a.m. The major business por-
tion of the convention will con-
vene at 11:30 a.m. following a
10:30 a.m. brunch.

The Michigan Jewish War
Veterans will honor outgoing
State Commander Milton Klein
at a dinner at the Northfield
Hilton Hotel, 5500 Crooks Rd.,
Troy, on Tuesday, June 18, at 7
p.m.
