ty in 1971 and retaining him un-
til his passing.
Their Ram's Horn has also be-
come a popular place to go after
events ... filled with people eating
desserts, fruits, sandwiches, etc.
It is open seven days for break-
fast, lunch and dinner ... Sunday
through Thursday, 6 a.m. to mid-
night ... Friday and Saturday, 6
a.m. to 1 a.m.
Both Angelo and Connie are
very hard-working owners ...
They realize that the success or
failure of a restaurant is so many
times dependent upon on-site
ownership and most certainly
consistency ... In the case of the
Rain's Horn of Farmington Hills,
where so much rests on their
knowledge and dedication, both
are musts.
Prior to remodeling, the part-
ners were looking for a second
Ram's Horn location ... But their
minds were changed by the will
to concentrate on making this bet-
ter than ever for a long list of ded-
icated customers.
Every day, Connie is in the
kitchen making food ... His meat-

loaf, regular or turkey, is a stand-
out item ... as are Connie's soups,
stir-frys and other fine dishes like
the fresh chickens he roasts each
day.
No canned vegetables ... all are
fresh ... Remember, the Ram's

Horn on Orchard Lake Road,
south of 13 Mile, is run by restau-
rant people.
The menus at all Ram's Horn
operations are standardized ...
But at this one, the very popular
tuna-tizer, for example, is pre-
, pared only with Albacore tuna ...
As a result, it has become one of

Ram's Horn of Farmington Hills'
more popular items ... About 300
pounds of tuna are sold weekly ...
In summer the count is even
higher.
There are salads galore ... all
presented with freshly cut lettuce
on cold plates .. And pies like ap-

ple, blueberry and cherry are
homemade.
The turkey breast is sliced by
hand as might be expected from
someone in the kitchen like Con-
nie ... He always has extra cooks
helping him prepare the food with
much care ... But nothing is done
without Connie's strict supervi-
sion ... And you can bet that he
and Angelo taste a lot of the food
before their customers.
The newly remodeled Ram's
Horn on Orchard Lake Road,
south of 13 Mile in Farmington
Hills, has become what so many
folks have wanted ... A good place
to go for casual family dining in
/— a very clean and elegant atmos-
phere at breakfast, lunch and din-

ner ... And one where people can
meet after hours.
To top it all off, there are An-
gelo and Connie ... A couple of ex-
perienced restaurant men who
care about their customers.
What a wonderful feeling it is
to go into a restaurant where the
owners have this attitude.
GRAND OPENING of the
Downtown London Chop House
in the Murphy Building on Con-
gress will be April 26, from 5 p.m.
to closing .... A lot of memories
will be exchanged by former Chop
Chops amid some familiar sur-
roundings.
REGARDS FROM ... Harold
"Hutch" Bobroff, former Detroi-
ter living in Aventura, Fla., who
sends a copy of the first menu by
the London Chop House 57 years
ago ... Owner Les Gruber's initial
executive chief was Eddie Dobler,
known as the perch king of Amer-
ica.
"My wife, Ethel, and I are still
subscribers to The Jewish News,
and look forward to the news
from home."
GLADYS KNIGHT will head-
line the 14th annual dinner by
Michigan Cancer Foundation to
benefit the Barbara Ann Kar-
manos Cancer Institute, May 11,
at the Westin Hotel.
Tom Jones was expected to be
the star, but had to back out be-
cause of a film commitment.
David Hermelin will receive
the second annual Leonard Si-
mons Award given to the top Kar-
manos (MCF) volunteer ... I can't
think of anyone who deserves it
more.
GUYS AND GALS in a hur-
ry will appreciate the counter ser-
vice now for quick lunches and
dinners at Paparazzi Italian
restaurant in Sugar Tree on Or-
chard Lake Road.
RESTAURANT VETS Norm
LePage and John Wood have put
their over 50 years of combined
know-how into a food service and
hospitality consulting firm ... LeP-
age/Wood, Inc.
Norm will open his third East
Side Mario's April 23, in the
Southfield Commons on South-
field Road, north of 12 Mile, and
has two in Rochester and Livonia
... He also owns Norm's Eaton
Street Station in Birmingham
and operates Mac & Ra?s ... John
was former executive vice presi-
dent and chief operating officer
of Machus Enterprises.
WHITEFISH Festival will be
on through May at D. Dennison's,
12 Mile west of Orchard Lake
Road, and in Livonia ... Lunch
and dinner whitefish specials will
include appetizers, entrees and
salads.
WREN CROSSWINDS Mall
renovation into an open shopping
center is completed, hopefully by
fall of this year, MarioMax Salon
will relocate just a few feet from
its current spot ... It'll have an en-
tirely new, updated look and
1,000 feet more space. ❑
