The possibility and impact of
reincarnation on an individual's
life will be discussed by Rabbi
William Gershon and Dr. Alicia
Tisdale at the 9:30 a.m. Wednes-
day, Jan. 24, Women's Division
Food for Thought program at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Rabbi Gershon, of Congrega-
tion Shaarey
Zedek, will dis-
cuss "The Af-
terlife: A
Jewish Per-
spective." Dr.
Tisdale will
talk about
"past life re-
gression" as it
relates to liv-
ing a past life.

The Ahava Group (members 40-
to-60-somethings) of Congrega-
tion B'nai Moshe will have an
evening of high-energy Yid-
dishkeit with the Klezmer Con-
servatory Band in concert on
Saturday, Jan. 13, at 8 p.m. at
West Bloomfield High School.
This presentation is a part of the
JCC's Encore Series and all ages
are welcome.
The Ahava Group will have
special rates for this perfor-
mance, including student and se-

Managed Care
Discussion Set

Rehabilitation professionals are
invited to a discussion led by Pe-
ter R. Kovacek about managing
the changes in managed care at
6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the
Skyline Club of the 2000 Town
Center building in Southfield.
The event is coordinated by the
Jewish Federation Community
Outreach and Involvement De-
partment, which aims to increase
participation in the educational,
social and leadership programs
offered by the Jewish Federation
and its constituent agencies.
A faculty member of both
Wayne State_and Oakland uni-
versities, Mr. Kovacek is the
founder of his own managerial
consulting and professional de-
velopment company. He has
counseled organizations on vari-
ous administrative topics and also
directed physical therapy and re-
habilitation programs at several
Detroit area medical centers.
Reservations are required by
Jan. 12, and there is a $25 per-
person charge for the dinner
event. -

Rabbi Speaks
At Reception

The rosh yeshiva of the Lake-
wood Yeshiva, Rav Yeruchim 01-
shin, will be honored at a
reception 8:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 10.
Rabbi Yisroel Rokowsky, rosh
yeshiva of Ohr Someach in Mon-
sey, will be the speaker.
The hosts of the evenitt are
Mrs. Sol Nusbaum, Rabbi and
Mrs. Dov Loketch, and Rabbi
and Mrs. Joseph Nusbaum. The
reception will take place at the
home of Rabbi and Mrs. Joseph
Nusbaum, 15041 Burton, Oak
Park. The chairman of the
evening is Rabbi Steven Weil,
rav of the Greenfield Young Is-
rael.

Cooking Party
For Children

Children ages 4-11 are invited to
a cooking party at Congregation
B'nai Moshe on'Wednesday, Jan.
17, at 4 p.m. at the shul. Children
will be cooking several different
kinds of foods that will be in the
new B'nai Moshe cookbook.
There will also be a decorating
contest for various pages in the
cookbook.

JPM Events
For Seniors

Area Agency on 1B Aging repre-
sentative Yolanda Jackson will
speak on Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. at
the JPM. She will explain the
special "Curb to Curb Bus Ser-
vices." There is no charge.
Every week, JPM sponsors its
Wednesday Afternoon Social
from 1-2:30 p.m. There is a do-
nation, which covers live enter-
tainment and refreshments. Call
