at the Maccabi games: 13 gold,
three silver and two bronze.
In the 1993 St. Louis games,
DeWolf took home 10gold medals
in the 100, 200 and 400-meter
runs, as well the high-jump, long-
jump and all relays.
Since the 1992 Maccabi games
in Baltimore, DeWolf has set sev-
eral high-jump records that still
stand. In the 1994 Cleveland
games, DeWolf jumped 5-feet-9-
inches in the high-jump to estab-
lish a new mark for
15-16-year-old boys.

Calvin Johnson. In addition, De-
Wolf works out with Darnell
Hall, former Pershing High star,
who ran in the 1992 Barcelona
Olympics and will be competing
in the 1996 Summer Olympics.

DEED: Bright, 16,
starts his junior year
at West Bloomfield
in the fall. This will
be his third year on
the varsity baseball
team. His freshman
year, Bright played
shortstop. Last year,
he played third base.

In 1992, DeWolf
jumped 5-feet-6-inches,
breaking the former
high jump record for
13-14-year-old boys.
That same year, he and
his teammates also set
the mark for the 4-by-
400 meter relay.
THE SKINNY: DeWolf has
been a fierce track and
field ' competitor for
Berkley as well. As a
junior last spring, he
was one of the team's
captains.
He is 5 feet 11 inch-
es tall and weighs 155 pounds.
This past spring, DeWolf hit his
best high-jump ever at 6-feet for
Berkley. He also won an All Oak-
land Athletic Association award
for his 11.2 performance in the
100 meters.
Once track season is over, De-
Wolf never stops training. He is
on the year-round Athletes Unit-
ed track club, which consists of
the best young men's track and
field champions around Michigan.
On July 22 in Melvindale, he
won the high-jump at the United
States International Track and
Field Summer Classic Champi-
onship for 17-18-year-old men.

As a freshman, Bright's team-
mates voted him rookie of the
year. Bright is also a wide re-
ceiver on the West Bloomfield
varsity football team, but he ad-
mits his first love is baseball.
This summer, Bright is play-
ing second base for the South
Farmington Blues Federation
travel team. He is the captain
and only Jewish member of the
team. One of his coaches is
Chaldean and the other is Pales-
tinian.
THE SKINNY: Bright began play-
ing baseball at age 6. Every sum-
mer since then, he has been on a
North Farmington West Bloom-
field Little League team. When
Bright was 12, he started play-
