THE NORTH FARMINGTON WEST
BLOOMFIELD (NFWB) 9-year-old
boys baseball team helped the
NFWB teams win the all-round
international baseball title for the
first time since 1991.
In early July, the 9-year-old
team traveled to Toronto to par-
ticipate in the Thornhill Invita-
tional, where they contributed to
capturing the international tro-
phy by winning two out of three
games in the tournament.
MICHIGAN JEWISH SPORTS HALL OF
FAME GAMES will be held at the
West Bloomfield Jewish Com-
munity Center on Sunday, Aug.
20, at 10 a.m.
The activities present a recre-
ational and athletic experience
for youths and adults with dis-
abilities. About 100 athletes take
part in track and field, swimming
and team events.
The opening ceremony starts
after an Olympic-style proces-
sional of the athletic participants,
which will be led by Detroit mu-
sician Marcus Belgrave.

JOSEPH BALE POST of the Jewish
War Veterans will be hosting a
Jewish Open on Monday, Aug.
21, at Tam 0' Shanter Country
Club in West Bloomfield.
The cost includes breakfast,
lunch, dinner, tennis, golf and the
use of the pool and clubhouse.
Proceeds go to help the area's vet-
erans' hospitals.
