ome misguided individu-
als think that the games
of football or baseball are
our national sport. They're
so wrong; I happen to know that
it's barbecuing.
Some fans even feel that it's
perfectly acceptable to grill out
in three feet of snow, in a pour-
ing rain or when it's 112 degrees
outside and the weather service
is warning you to keep your pets
and grandparents inside to pre-
vent heat stroke. I even saw,
(this is a true story, I have wit-
nesses) one family that was so
devoted to their charcoal that
they took their full size Webber
Grill (Glowing coals and all) for
a spin around the lake on their
pontoon boat during their
Fourth of July picnic. Some-
body please tell me how do you
call the fire department when
the boat catches on fire?
While I like that smokey
taste just as much as
the next guy, I try
to keep my cook-
ing limited to my
back yard dur-
ing those
months when
there are no
travel advi-
sories being is-
sued. With
this thought in
mind, I feel
comfortable in
saying now is
the perfect time
for your grilling
extravaganza.
So choose
whichever
method of grilling (gas or char-
coal) you like the best, get every-
thing red hot and let the games
begin.
