Star Trek? No,
Freedom Trek

Health club members at the Oak
Park and West Bloomfield
branches of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center will be embarking on
a "Freedom Trek" honoring Is-
rael's independence starting
Monday, April 24.
Using a treadmill, participants
will walk or run from Tel Aviv to
Haifa, bike from Haifa to
Tiberias and row or swim across
the Sea of Galilee. The trek will
end with a climb up Mt. Ramon
by Stairmaster or Gravitron.
It'll take five weeks for partic-
ipants to complete the trek and
receive a commemorative T-shirt
(the last day is Monday, June 5).
The trek is designed so health
club members of every fitness
level can finish.
For registration information,
call the Oak Park JCC, (810)
967-4030, or the West Bloomfield
JCC, (810) 661-1000.

"Taubman interweaves his childhood experiences with
snippets of his own kids' lives in a way that keeps the
younger fans bopping while coaxing more than a few toe
taps and chuckles from adults"
Los Angeles Times

"Taubman handles (it) with sunny finesse while
delivering messages silly, serious, inspirational and
just plain fun."
The Washington Post
