Darin Glasser

A double with two outs in the
seventh inning by Walled Lake
Central's Steve Crepeau ruined
Gasser's bid for the masterpiece,
but the senior pitcher ended up
with a one-hitter and a 3-1 vic-
tory in the April 7 game.
Glasser fanned 13 - including
Crepeau twice - and he walked
just two. He allowed a run in the
seventh, but it was unearned.
ROBERT ROTH got North
Farmington rolling in the bottom
of the first inning when he sin-
gled, stole second, went to third
on a wild pitch and scored on Eric
Pierce's sacrifice fly.
A sixth-inning suicide squeeze
bunt by MIKE FELD, which
drove in John Lessway from
third, gave North Farmington its
final run.
The win over Central gave
North Farmington a 2-0 record.
Glasser also was the winning
pitcher in North Farmington's
opener, an 18-9 triumph over
Ferndale on April 6.
Roth once again jump-started
North Farmington's attack by
hitting a leadoff homer in the bot-
tom of the first.
Also on the North Farmington
roster are EVAN KLEIN, JEF-
FREY LIGHT and RONNIE

JUSTIN BRIGHT, BRIAN
DERSHAW, BLAIR GOT-
TLIEB, ADAM ROSEN-
JUSTIN
and
ZWEIG
SCHULTZ are members of the
West Bloomfield High School
baseball team. BRAD ZAGER
is the student manager.

NIKI BERLIN was the win-
ning pitcher in the Berkley High
School softball team's 8-3 victo-

STENIE

STEIN

ry over Sterling Heights on April
11. She threw a four-hitter and
she struck out four. Berlin helped
her cause by stealing three bases.

GARON OSEFF of Walled
Lake Western High School and
GREG LUSARDI of Berkley
High School won the discus event
at early-season boys track meets.
Oseff heaved the discus 118-
0 in Western's 70-67 loss to
Northville on April 11. Lusardi
had a toss of 115-11 in an April
11 tri-meet which saw Berkley
beat Southfield-Lathrup 59-53
and tie Waterford Kettering 57-
57.

ROBBY DAITCH, a fresh-
man, was named the most im-
proved wrestler on the Bloomfield
Hills Andover High School team.
He also had the best record on the
squad, a 10-5 mark at 112 pounds.
Senior captain DEREK MEK-
LIR, who wrestled at 151
pounds, was the team MVP. Also
earning varsity letters were
DAVID MOSES (100 pounds),
KARL MOSES (112 pounds),
JEROD LUTZ (142 pounds) and
DAVID BRIEGER (215
pounds).
