Universities
Host Party

For the first time in the history
of the Detroit, the community's
Israel university organizations
are collaborating on a joint pro-
gram. A family Purim party will
be held Sunday, March 5, at the
Detroit Science Center, 5020
John R. Street, Detroit. The
event will begin at 4 p.m. and
will include a light supper, Om-
nimax movie and dessert. There
is an charge. All food will be
kosher.
The program is sponsored by
the American Committee for the
Weizmann Institute of Science,
American Friends of the Hebrew
University, American Technion
Society, and the Friends of Bar-
Ilan University, in cooperation
with the Michigan-Israel Con-
nection. The Friends of Tel Aviv
University will also be repre-
sented.
In addition to providing gen-
eral information about the im-
portance of Israel's universities,
the evening is designed to show-
case the wide range of high
school and college programs
available at Israel's universities.
Representatives of each institu-
tion will be available to discuss
the appropriate program for
prospective participants.

Slates Events

The Conversational Hebrew
Table meets Thursdays at 5:30

Akiva Holds
Purim Se'udah

Akiva Hebrew Day School's
Purim Se'udah will take place
on March 16, at Congregation
Beth Achim. Minchah will be at
5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow
at 6 p.m.
Sasson Natan will entertain
with songs and there will be a
magician. There will be food,
prizes and lots of fun.
