Media Talk
By Professor

The speaker at the Workmen's Cir-
cle Branch meeting on Sunday,
Feb. 19, will be Dr. Moti Nissani,
professor at the Interdisciplinary
Studies Program at Wayne State
University. His topic will be "Do
They Tell Us the Truth: Media and
Politics in the U.S."
The meeting will be held at 2
p.m. at the Workmen's Circle
Center, 26341 Coolidge, Oak
Park.

Auxiliary
Meeting Set

President Faye Glosser of the De-
partment of Michigan Ladies
Auxiliary of the Jewish War Vet-
erans will conduct a meeting
Tuesday, Feb. 28, 7:30 p.m. at the
JWV Memorial Home.
Zussman Auxiliary will provide
the refreshments for the evening.

Parenting Center
Offers Classes

Making Family Memories will be
taught by Lynn Breuer 7-9 p.m.
on Mondays, beginning Feb. 20,
at the Apple Parenting Center.
The class will present step-by-step
instructions to help maximize
Jewish traditions, by learning
how to organize family photos into
keepsake albums. Participants
should bring up to 12 photos of
the same subject and a sharp pair
of scissors. Additional materials
may be purchased at class.
Parenting — The First 100
Days is designed for first-time
parents. The course teaches about
baby naming, selecting a pedia-
trician, circumcision, health is-
sues, nursing, bonding, becoming
a family, and bringing Judaism
into the home. Rabbi William

Gershon, Dr. George Blum, Elis-
sa Rosenfeld, and Sherri Glass-
man, will begin the series
Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7:30-9 p.m.
Creative kosher cooking will be
taught by Mimi Markofsky 7-9
p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22. The
class will teach kosher gourmet
cooking.
Bereavement Group is for
young widows and widowers with
teen-aged children or younger.
The group will meet beginning
Thursday, March 2, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Babysitting is available.
Challah Days will be held at
Shaarey Zedek in Southfield on
Friday, Feb. 24, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Ruth Beresh teaches how to make
challah The class is open to every-
one.
